The Rotary Club of Tsuen Wan was chartered under District 345 with a membership of 27 under Charter President Norman G. Rolph at President Hotel, Kowloon. (now known as Hotel Hyatt)
Of the 27 Founder Rotarians, 33% were Shanghainese mostly textile tycoons, 33% prominent New Territories leader and the rest, Europeans mostly from different top government posts.
