This year started with a “major gift” to the Rotary Foundation by P.D.G. Dr. Philip Lai. Also His Rotaryann became a Benefactor to the Foundation.
We celebrated our 30th Fundraising Ball which raised $80,000.00. We welcomed also members from our sister clubs in Japan and Taiwan. Well done VP Gilbert Colins. V.P. Gilbert was also congratulated for organizing outstanding programmes for our meetings. Among the many celebrities that addressed our members, was Sir David Ford, the Chief Secretary.
On Community Service, our Club donated 4 special Braille computes to the Hongkong Association for the Blind for a total of $65,000.00. On International Service, we donated Funds to build a water-well in a Rotary village in The Philippines, a project from our sister club of Mandaluyang. We also donated to the China Flood disaster.
Our Interacters joined us again at the Annual Tree Planting Day.
