Meetings in June 2007  
8th June   

The Group Study Exchange team from the UK visited our club this Friday.

They were given a tour of various facilities in PolyU by President Maureen before lunch. After lunch, PE Angela took them to visit Christian Action.

 Mrs. Liz Chaberlain, director of the multi-lingual suicidal prevention hotline for Samaritans talk ed to members about ‘Samaritans HK- An Overview’.

Bruce Walker, a friend of PP David, was inducted as our new club member at this meeting.

Mr Bruce Walker, who is known to our

club, was proposed for membership which was approved at the last Board

Meeting on 4th June 2007.

Bruce is a long time resident of HK and is a Chartered Surveyor by profession. He is a director of Pamfleet (HK) Ltd, a well known property fund management company. Bruce is married with 3 boys and is well known

In thespian circles (like our other thespian PP Gilbert) in HK. No doubt, Bruce will make

an enthusiastic and entertaining member.

 
 

 

 At this meeting, we also had Aidas and Inesa who gave us a talk about ‘Passion about Latin Dancing’ and a wonderful demonstratin of ‘cha cha cha’.

 

Some information about Aidas and Inesa:

  • Lithuanian Professional National Champions 2005, 2006, 2007
  • Top 30 in European and World championships
  • 8th place in amateur European Cup 2002
  • Finalists in Hong Kong open professional championships
  • World and European champions in Latin American Formation championships in 1999

 

20 years competitive experience. 11 years teaching experience. Owners of three dance studios in Lithuania with more than 300 students.

  • Coach of World Formation Champion team – Skaiste Idzeleviciene ( Lithuania)
  • World Latin champion – Karen Hardy ( England)
  • World 10 dance champion – Bo Loft Jensen ( Norway),
  • World Latin show dance champion – Sergej Ryupin ( Russia)
  • Runners up in the World Latin championships – Paul Killick ( England) and Hanna Kartunen ( Finland)
