1989 – 1990 Peter Jones
The commencement of this Rotary year was marked by the saddened demise of Rtn. Matsumoto and the return of Rtn. Lachman to India. Three new members were inducted during the year.
On Community Service, the Club had donated a blood analysis machine to the Haven of Hope Hospital, Junk Bay, Computer softwares were provided for the Correctional Service Department for training purpose.
On International Service, the Club had donated towards a World Community Service project in India, namely the Paul Harris School for Mentally Disabled Children; and also the “Save Water-Save Lives” project in P.N.G., Thailand, India and the Solomon Islands. In December 1989, an Intercity Meeting with the Rotary Club of Crows Nest, Australia was jointly hosted by our Club and the Rotary Club of Peninsula. It was an extremely successful function which was enjoyed by all attendees.
