As President  Rainer was  out of Hong Kong, PP David Bruce was taking over as Acting President and introduced last Friday’s

Speaker.

We were be joined by Vern Reid, the current CEO of the Hong Kong Rugby Union.  Vern joined the Union a few years ago, after a sporting administration career in Perth, Australia, where he was latterly CEO of the Western Force professional rugby team.  One of his tasks was to find his successor, which he has done.  Robbie McRobbie will take over as Union CEO after the 2017 Hong Kong Sevens, when Vern will return home to Perth.   Vern shared  an insight of the HKRU , it’s broad range of activities and a few interesting stories in  the long history of this iconic institution.
